DANCEHALL DIARIES

By Milton Lee, 03/01/2007.

First of all, please accept my apologies for the delay.  I, Mr. Milton aka The Rocksteadydaddy aka The fat guy over there playing the music, would like to thank all guests for attending my birthday bash.  It surpassed my expectations.  No formal invitations or advertising was put forward and the event was still a huge success.  I would like to thank the deejays on the rotation.  Studio Love was on top form.....as expected.  Digital English was.....well....Digital(what more can I say.)  And as usual my sparring partner Sir david was blazing.  It was nice to know that I have friends who will come out to help celebrate this occasion.  Many came from near and I would like to thank those who made the long excursion.  My heartfelt love and appreciation goes out to the ladies from Maryland and the DC area.  Once again, thanks for making my birthday a happy one.

In a age where the majority of  marriages end in divorce, it is refreshing to hear of couples staying married for 20, 30, or 40 years, but 50 years of marriage is simply phenomenal.

Mr. Leford and Cislyn Francis celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday 22nd, 2008 at the Glen Terrace. The celebration brought together over 300 family members and friends from all over the world. The radiant bride and handsome groom stood hand in hand as Bishop R.C Hugh Nelson of The Church of God of East Flatbush officiated the renewal of Wedding vows.

Karlene Gordon, director of the Caribbean American Program for Empowerment, commended her aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Francis,  for the exemplary married life they have lived.  She went on to say “they are a beautiful couple who demonstrate their Christian faith through their love for each other and their love for family and others. They don’t just talk the talk, but also walk the walk.”  For their generosity, love and encouragement, Mr. & Mrs. Francis are affectionately known to all as ‘Mommy Cis’ and ‘Daddy Lee’, the names bestow to them some 40 years ago by Karlene Gordon.

Jamaica is proud of its very own, Mr. & Mrs. Francis,  who migrated to England in the ’60 where they lived fruitful and progressive lives before making USA their home.

Congratulations and honor to Mr. & Mrs. Leford & Cislyn Francis on their 50th Wedding Anniversary
